  • Emissions/on-board diagnostics (OBD) for 1996 models or newer

In addition to a physical safety inspection, vehicles with a model year 1996 or newer are required to have an on-board diagnostics (OBD) test as part of the inspection process.

On-board diagnostics is a computer-based system built into all 1996 and newer light-duty passenger vehicles to monitor the performance of some of the engine's major components, including emission control components. The OBD system helps the motorist know if their vehicle has a defect that could cause excess pollution. In addition, it helps mechanics accurately diagnose problems and make effective vehicle repairs.

Select Goodyear Auto Service locations in New Hampshire offer state vehicle inspections. For more information on the inspection contact one of your local New Hampshire locations, or choose to make an appointment today.

After their initial state inspection, any registered vehicles must be reinspected every year, no later than ten days after the end of your birth month.

When a vehicle changes owners, it must be inspected in the new owner's name within ten days of the registration date, even if the original inspection sticker has not expired. Please note that antique motor vehicles must be inspected in the month of April.

The certified technicians at your local Goodyear Auto Service understand the specific requirements that must be met to pass a New Hampshire state vehicle inspection, and will work closely with you to determine exactly what your vehicle needs to stay road-ready in the Granite State.
